Cheri lives in Norton, OH and has been a private flute instructor for the past 38 years. She is an Assistant Marching Band Director (since 2021) at Barberton City Schools where she also teaches flute and leads flute ensembles (since 2011) for grades 6-12. She has also worked with flute students of all ages from Norton City Schools (since 1996) and was highly involved with their Indoor Drumline from 2012-2020. She is a graduate of Grove City College where she received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education (1990).

Cheri and her husband, Phil are the parents of five grown children (and 1 grandchild), of which four have marched in one or more Matrix ensembles (Adam - Open 2016-2019; Noah - Open 2018, World 2019-2022, Staff 2021-2025; Ian - Open 2018, World 2019-2020 and Matthew - Matrix A 2021). Cheri is the Parent Coordinator for Matrix (since 2022). When she gets spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, flower gardening, photography, sewing, doing puzzles, hanging out at Cedar Point, and rooting for the Steelers. Cheri has been a member of the board since 2024.
